Half-day fishing charter

Mornings along the rocks and the beach for roosterfish, cubera snapper and jacks. A genuinely good day on the water, and often the better one for families.

[ $1,350 · PRIVATE CHARTER ][ UP TO SIX · +$100 EACH AFTER ][ MORNINGS · INSHORE ]

The day

The half day is a good trip. It is not a sailfish trip.

The sailfish are forty-five minutes to an hour away, each way. Take that out of a half day and look at what is left. You cannot honestly sell a half-day billfish trip out of Herradura, so ours is not one.

The half day is an inshore trip: roosterfish, cubera snapper and jack crevalle, worked along the rocks and the beach. Closer in, more going on, and a roosterfish does not care how old you are.

If sails are what you came for, the full day is the trip.

Some people prefer it outright.

It is the better day for a lot of families, and it is how plenty of people find out they like inshore fishing.

Questions

  • Will we see sailfish on a half day?

Probably not, and we would rather say so now. The sailfish water is too far out for a half day. Book the full day if sails are the goal.

  • Is it good for kids?

Often it is the best choice for them: closer in, shorter, and more going on. Every angler, kids included, needs the fishing licence, and the boat handles it.

  • How many people can come?

The price covers up to six guests. Each guest beyond six is $100.

  • Can we keep what we catch?

Roosterfish are always released. Meat fish can come home with you, up to five per trip, per boat.
